Francesca e Luigi – Italopils Mi amor
Francesca e Luigi is a Swedish Italo-disco/synthpop duo made up of Jessica Brannefors (vocals) and Martin Permer (synths, vocals, programming, songwriting). The duo started writing music together after Permer composed an initial track, which quickly grew into a full album project rooted in their shared love of classic Italo-disco. I love the playful and just a little goofy sexuality Jessica brings to the mix – they have a really fun dance vibe and for their third appearance on Z-GR! Radio, they’re opening with ‘Italopils Mi amor’, a playful hybrid title mixing beer culture, Italo-disco style, and romance imagery.
annsofi&me – Dancing on the Strip
blends upbeat synth-driven pop with infectious melodies. The Norwegian duo of Annsofi Pettersen and JP Paulsen combine Annsofi’s vocals with JP’s production to create music that’s energetic, catchy, and club ready – Dancing on the Strip is the perfect example of why I like them so much.
SEirik Zakariassen – Diamont
Believe it or not, despite playing artists from all over the world, I’ve never had a track sung in a foreign language back to front… but when I heard Eirik Zakariassen’s Diamant, I knew this was something different.
Hailing from Norway, Eirik Zakariassen is a guitarist, songwriter, and artist who blends progressive rock sensibilities with club dance energy. Diamant — which translates to Diamond — is a really great track… and it is riddled with hooks throughout., Proof once again that great music doesn’t need a translation… it just needs to make you move.
Whitney Tai – Not Have Each Other
Whitney Tai’s sixth turn on the show is a return to Episode 9’s Not Have Each Other. The track stacks Whitney’s sultry voice over a sexy sax, driving guitar, and subtle electronics in a song about connection, loss, and everything in between.

Cara Francese – God Complex
Northern Virgina’s Cara Francese is back on the show with a track from her 2025 album Soulsaver. I really like Cara a lot, she’s got a TON of great songs and the entire Soulsaver record is fantastic – this track – God Complex, grabs you from the jump and doesn’t let go.
Zero-G Racetrack – Slave To My Ego
Dream Prescription – Star Size
Dream Prescription opened Episode 4 with Star Size, a very cool track with a fantastic guitar hook – it’s off of their 2023 album Cosmic Drift, and because I’d hate for you to miss out on something awesome, it’s back for another play. The New York-based project was started by Kent Friedman and Tim Robert, who writes, records, and produces the music. They’ve got a cool sound that meshes post-punk with new wave, and synthpop and th

Rye Catchers – Lie To Me
Rye Catchers make their first appearance on the show with 2025’s Lie To Me, – The Milwaukee-based project is led by songwriter and producer David McClintick Roberts, who writes, records, and produces the music with a rotating cast of collaborators. Lie To Me blends synthpop, indie pop, and R&B‑infused vocals from Nashville singer Taylor Matthews.
Octavian Winters – Elements of Air
Octavian Winters makes their fourth appearance on the show with their latest, Elements of Air,and it’s awesome. The San Francisco-based band, formed in 2022, features Ria Aursjoen (vocals, keyboards), Stephan Bryan Salit (guitar), Randy Gzebb (drums), and Jay Denton (bass), with production by William Faith. I absolutely love the darkwave energy of the band, and this track is a banger.

Weird Wolves – See The Light
Episode 1 artist Weird Wolves make their ninth appearance on the show with 2022’s See The Light, which is a favorite of mine. The Austin, Texas project was originally founded by Arkane Studios creator Raphael Colantonio and vocalist Ava Gore, who has since left the band. The current lineup now features Colantonio alongside vocalist/guitarist Celestina Gravely and keyboardist Zeph Rexx, reflecting the project’s evolution from a studio duo into a full band. They have a ton of great tracks so make sure you check them out.

Pure Obsessions & Red Nights – Take On Me
Our cover this week takes on one of the most iconic songs of the MTV era — Take On Me by Norway’s A-Ha First released in 198 and it flopped. It was re-recording in 1985, and it hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, fueled by one of the most innovative music videos ever recorded – the pencil-sketch animation video, blending live action and rotoscoped sketches, won six MTV Video Music Awards and helped the song define the ’80s pop sound.
Pure Obsessions & Red Nights make their first appearance on the show with their awesome 2025 cover, reimagined by French producer Philippe Deschemin, whose long-running project began in 1999. I’ve had this one in my back pocket for a while now, it’s awesome and I’m excited to get it on the show.
