Boston’s Cat Temper is back with another GREAT release! The Album and track names are Rush title puns for this one, and head Cat Mike Langlie describes the album as such: “Melancholy melodies and distorted riffs reflect an air of despair and defiance. Balancing electronic and hard rock sounds, equal parts synthpop and prog.”
All I know is that Cat Temper gets better with each realease and that’s saying something.

The FURRTASTIC artwork is by Jennifer Maher Coleman (DJ, artist, synths and vocals for Architrave), and she’s got a ton of great art to check out – I definitely think it’s worth your time, no lie.

Glass Apple Bonzai – The Sound of Love – Super Swingin’ Sax Mix
Zero-G Racetrack – I Think You’re Beautiful – Radio Edit
Zero-G Racetrack’s most popular song ‘I Think You’re Beautiful’ was remastered and re-packaged as a 6 track EP in December of 2022 and collectively, the song has hit the 100k mark as of today. The radio Instrumental is the version that got picked up by Spotify’s Autoplay, and has kept the track moving. The art used for the cover was the catalyst for the cover art style we’ve used throughout the first wave of singles, and the song continues to be a fan favorite.

Yunni – Older People – ’07 Club Mix
Yunni’s sound sits comfortably between indie electronic and club music, and this remix of their track ‘Older People’ not only sounds great, but it’s a glaring reminder that music doesn’t age the way people do, and as we grow older, it becomes obvious that the “new” sound celebrated by young audiences is, in fact, the soundtrack of our own past.
Quick Kick – Heartbreaker
2023’s Heartbreaker is from Toronto electronic act Quick Kick, who operates primarily as a studio-based electronic project with collaborators and remixers appearing across releases rather than a fixed touring lineup. The track was written by Colin Kelday with drums and FX by Tim van de Ven – this 2023 track appears on the album Hits From The Relief Fund.

Moonrunner83 – Your Name Is Tattooed On My Heart
Every once in a while I stumble across a track that is so good that I wish I’d written it myself and this track definitely qualifies – Moonrunner83, AKA Mark Donica is a synthwave/retrowave artist and producer from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He’s known for collaborations with vocalists across both the synthwave and melodic rock genres, which explains why I think this track is so great – Josh Daly’s vocals really hit the mark on 2023’s ‘Your Name Is Tattooed On My Heart’.

She 1 – Him 2 – Fame
Our cover track this week is a David Bowie song that was released in January of 1975, and was his first #1 US single. The song grew out of Jam session that included none other than John Lennon, who suggested the title and the tracks’ backing vocal on the signature ‘Fame’ that resonates throughout. Interestingly, this became one of Bowie’s most sampled songs—its groove has appeared in hip-hop and electronic music.
This take on the track is by alternative electronic duo She 1 · Him 2 from Cleveland, Ohio – It’s their 2022 cover of David Bowie’s classic, ‘Fame’ and it is fantastic.

Alexa Villa – All I Really Wanted
Alexa Villa is a San-Diego-bred, L.A.-based artist who is as close to being a regular on the show as it gets – this her 9th appearance, which is definitely no accident – she released some great material last year, and of course, I always do what I can to get it out there – All I Ever Really Wanted released June 6, 2025 and has a really cool dirty synth-rock thing going on.
The Sunmills – Rock and Roll
The Sunmills are a Highland, Utah rock trio made up of Jim Brown, Kyle McCann and Porter Chapman and are part of the newer wave of guitar-driven indie/alt rock coming out of the Utah scene. Rock and Roll appears on their album The Art of Burning Bridges and showcases the band’s energetic blend of alternative and modern rock.
Ping Pong Warrior – The Mountain
London electronic duo Ping Pong Warrior is made up of Matthew Dacey and William Rowe – they’ve been quiet for a long minute, but man, this track is something special. From the first time I heard this track I knew it was going on the show, and if you end up digging it as much as I do, they have an 8 minute remix available. ‘The Mountain’ released back in 2021, it is AWESOME and REALLY I hope we hear more from these guys in the near future.
Cat Temper – The Analog Kitten
NEWHD featured artist, friend of the show and Synthwave’s predominant Feline Enthusiast Cat Temper is back with a new release and let me tell you, it is really, really good. The Analog Kitten is the second track on ‘A Furwell to Kings’ – the album and track names are Rush puns this go around – and DJ, artist and vocalist for Architrave Jennifer Maher Coleman supplied the pawsatively cool cover art – she also has some really neat synthesizer paintings that are worth a look so check her stuff out at the link below.
