EPISODE 56 of Z-GR! Radio
July 11, 2025
Z-GR! Radio overview right from your Host:
- My name is Scot Apathy – I’m the lead singer for Zero-G Racetrack, and I curate the ‘Floating Around the Racetrack’ Spotify/YouTube playlist. It’s not a pay for play list; I personally choose what’s on it based on what I hear and what I like. True story.
- For Z-GR! Radio, I include artists from the playlist, though for time availabilty reasons, I’ve moved most of my attention to the show. I include new artists as well as artists who have appeared on past episodes.
- The artists included come from myriad genres, geographical locations and stage of growth. I stay away from mainstream established artists, but I will play artists that I’ve followed as they grow. I love it when emerging artists gain traction, and I like to celebrate it.
- I include a cover song each week, and highly recommend checking out MetroVeteran’s (Ruel Smith) ‘Synthwave Covers’ Spotify playlist. There are 950+ great tracks on that list and he updates often.
- I post a page like this each week to help you find out more about the artists you heard on this week’s show and to make it easy to do so.
- We occasionally select artists for our NEWHD Featured Artist program. I’ll note those artists as they appear, and there are links to them at newhdradio.com/zgr.
Have fun with the list , enjoy the artists/music and…
PLEASE share the page out on your Socials!
Z-GR! Radio Episode 56 Lineup
Gulvoss - Speed of Life (Club Edit) - Eyeblink Remix
Sven Wittmiß is a versatile German singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who founded the dark-electro/synth-pop project GULVØSS in 2019. He’s known for melancholic yet danceable productions, and this remix keeps that signature style alive with a modern club twist and this track, the Club Edit of his Eyeblink Remix is an outstanding way to open this week’s show.
Train to Spain - I Wanna Know - Tolchock Remix
Swedish trio Train to Spain are made up of Helena Wigeborn, Jonas Rasmusson and Lars Netzel. This is the Tolchok remix of ‘I Wanna KNow’, a favorite of mine, and it’s really great, as is Sweden’s Tolchok, who have a really great industrial dance vibe that’s worth checking out.

Fused - Queens of the Electro Show
Fused is the stage name of Mark Kendrick, a solo electronic musician/producer from the UK – He’s remixed multiple artists including Darwin McD, Huguenot, and Z-GR! Radio artist Stereo in Solo. ‘Queens of the Electro Show’ is the album opener from recent release The Silicon Queens.
Zero-G Racetrack - Enjoy Today
Enjoy Today was the second release of my band Zero-G Racetrack – it’s about a sense of openness and emotional growth—by choosing to own your feelings and approach them without rigid plans, you can find a genuine, comforting happiness and all you need to do is take a deep breath and enjoy the day.

Stockwerk - The Man
Cameron Everett - Big Bro Generation
Andrew Judah - Cell mates
‘Cell Mates’ is a track by Kelowna, British Columbia musician Andrew Judah, and can be found on his outstanding 2017 album Metanoia. In addition to excellent indie rock, Andrew has been successfully producing film and commercials for brands like Disney, ABC, Lincoln, Google, Adidas, Cadillac, and Toyota.
Cara Francese - Waste of Space
18-year-old singer-songwriter Cara Francese is an Dark pop/electropop artist from Northern Virginia. She’s an active member of the DC–Maryland–Virginia music community and ‘Waste of Space’ is a standout on her 2025 SOULSAVER album – the album has a great sound for sure and is worth a listen.
Alexa Villa - All I Ever Wanted
Z-GR! Radio favorite Alexa Villa was born in San Diego and is now based in Los Angeles – she first took part in the Vans Warped Tour at age 16 with her band Oversoul thanks to winning a battle-of-the-bands contest, and went solo in 2016 – she’s known for blending pop-punk, alt-rock, with a synth-pop flair and has been delivering a stream of great tracks in 2025…it’s no secret that I’m a fan and ‘All I Ever Wanted’ is really great.
JJ Lovegrove - Dark Room
Nottingham‑based artist, member of Ivor’s Academy Songwriters’ Council and NEWHD featured artist JJ Lovegrove describes ‘Dark Room’ her second single leading up to her debut album The Lines We Leave Behind, as “pulling back the layers of someone’s narrative to uncover what they’re hiding from themselves and others.” JJ always brings the goods, and this time is no different.

Nova Halo - I Drove All Night
This week’s cover was originally intended for Roy Orbison – he recorded a demo in 1987, a year before his death, though it remained unreleased until his good friend Jeff Lynne polished it up and released it in 1992 – Orbison earned a posthumous Grammy-nomination and cemented the track as a classic.
Nova Halo’s version transforms ‘I Drove All Night’ into a deeply personal confession—showing how far love will go and how a long night’s quiet sustains both longing and hope.

Look Mum No Computer - Ride
A good friend of mine turned me on to Look Mum No Computer AKA Sam Battle, a few months back, and since then he’s uploaded a ton of archive material to support his very popular YouTube channel, where he focuses on repurposing old analogue synthesizers in unique and really cool ways. I’m playinging us out this week with 2021’s “Ride”.
