Amy Douglas / 808 Beach – Whatever Daddy Says
Our resident Disco Diva, the Big Apple’s Amy Douglas not only brings her amazing voice to the best of modern disco, when she’s not spinning behind the tables, she’s dropping hard rock records and has one of the best Souixie Sioux covers out there. I’ve been a fan for years now – she first appeared on the show for episode 21, this track is a joint with 808 Beach and now know why she’s a favorite of mine.

Kali J / LiTTiE – Live In Color
Episode 10 opener ‘Live In Color’ by Kali J and top-flight L.A. Producer LiTTie is really, really great – every once in a while I hear a track that grabs me by the soul,a and I knew right away that this track is something special.

Candy Apple Blue – A Touch Too Much (Matt Pop Mix)
Pittsburgh’s synthpop sibling duo Candy Apple Blue first appeared on Z-GR! Radio by opening Episode 21 with a cover of Dead or Alive’s ‘Shining Star’ that was mixed by Producer extraordinaire Matt Pop. They were guest artists on Episode 44 – they were awesome – and on that show I played ‘A Touch Too Much – Matt Pop Mix’, which features Nick Bramlet and has gone on to become a personal favorite of mine.

annsofi & me – Heart of Glass
Annsofi & Me is a joint project between Norway’s Annasofi and JP Paulsen. Anna Sofi reached 3rd place on the X-Factor and is an ambassador for Norway’s biggest anti-bullying campaign which I think is extraordinary. JP has collaborated with several of Norway’s noteables and their track, ‘Heart of Glass’, which premiered on Episode 32, is also on their 2024 full-length release ‘The Pop Album’.
Fulvio Colasanto / LAU / Bunny X / Syntronix – Electrified
I can see where stacking multiple Z-GR! Radio favorites into a single track might seem a bit of a cheat for time, but let’s be honest – when the track featuring an All-Star lineup of Aztec Records artists not only meets but exceeds expectations, you really can’t blame me for choosing ‘Electrified’, which features LAU, Fulvio Colasanto, Syntronix, and Bunny X, who has more appearances on the show than any other Z-GR! Radio artist – this song is awesome, no lie.

Able Machines – Watch the World Die
Able Machines is an electro-pop duo from Los Angeles – their 2023 album Digital Precision is nothing short of fantastic. There are certain songs that I truly feel represent the sound of Z-GR! Radio, and that track, ‘Watch the World Die’ is one of them.

Ralphy Grey / B.O.N. / Aisle 9 – I’m A Rebel – Aisle 9 Remix
Ralphy Grey was our guest artist on Episode 12, Aisle 9 was our guest artist and first ever track premiere on Episode 14 and the opener for the very first episode of Z-GR! Radio was ‘I’m A Rebel’ featuring the outstanding vocals as supplied by Bon. I was pretty excited when I saw that Aisle 9 did a remix of ‘I’m A Rebel’ , because it sounds awesome and because I think it’s super cool to see Z-GR! Radio artists get together for joint releases.

Synthewomia – Bla Bla and Nothing Changes
Swiss Pop Records sent NEWHD an email asking us to put ears on a release from Synthewomia, the Swiss-American Duo of Nancy Berie and Tess Bright. ‘Bla Bla and Nothing Changes’ became an immediate show favorite – underneath a vocal that’s a bit silly and fun is an amazing synth composition that really demands attention. Right as this show’s production wrapped, we received word that Synthwomia has a new track out, so make sure you check it out.
Bec Sandridge – Stranger
I had Australia’s Bec Sandridge on Episode 10 and again on Episode 15 when I opened the show with ‘Stranger’ – the track is awesome – it took second place in the International Songwriting Competition Unsigned Category and for good reason – Bec’s been playing out and has recently moved to headlining status.

Alexa Villa – Not Your Fool
Southern California native Alexa Villa has attitude to burn and a bunch of cool tracks – she’s been on the show several times, including the very first Episode of Z-GR! Radio. Now, – I’m a sucker for a catchy Pop track that has a big fat low end over which to lay a cleverly worded hook and ‘Not Your Fool’, which is off of Alexa’s awesome 2022 album ‘Good Girl’, certainly fits the bill.
Gukko / Citrine – As Long I Live I’ll Do What You Want (The Fuck I Want)
The Citrine / Gukko joint ‘As Long As I Live I’ll do What I Want’ opened our week 5 show and justifiably so – the song is awesome and is one of my favorite tracks that I’ve ever had on the show. The song really gives you no idea of just how banging it is until it hits the back 3rd, when it pulls its teeth and takes a bite.
Weird Wolves – See The Light
That was Austin’s Weird Wolves with 2022’s ‘See the Light’; I absolutely love the Weird Wolves and I absolutely love that track – The Wolves have been on Z-GR!’s playlists since 2022, and were featured on the first Episode of ZG-R Radio. They’ve been releasing some really great material lately, so make sure you check them out.

Josie Pace – Crispy Lovely
Detroit’s Josie Pace is best known for her scorching industrial electronic rock , but I have to say that I’m just as partial to her introspective material and this ‘Crispy Lovely’ is one of her best. Josie’s a longtime favorite of mine – she was one of the original 12 artists that kicked off the playlist that morphed into Z-GR! Radio and was fantastic on Hit Parader’s No Cover in 2022.
House of Asha – Stride
‘Strider’ is a track off ofSilicon Valley’s House of Asha’s outstanding ‘Behind Closed Doors’ EP. I met Asha in downtown San Jose at a performance shortly after her EP release and was super impressed. She has a wonderfully smooth, sultry voice that is immediately recognizable in all the best ways. She’s done a few joints with Bay Area Producer and Episode 15 Featured Guest ‘Dust Breaks’, and she’ll be appearing on a Zero-G Racetrack song that you’ll hear right here on Z-GR! Radio when it’s released.
Estella Dawn – Detached
Estella Dawn crazy great on so many levels – she has a fantastic voice, wonderful presence and a way with words that makes her songs a ton of fun to listen to. I’ve been a fan for a while now – she’s a New Zealander in San Diego by way of Colorado, comes from a musical background and has a great social media presence. It was a tough call as to which track to put on the show, but Episode 32 featured a track that puts her formidable lyrical prowess front and center – a woman scorned can make for some fantastic songwriting for sure and ‘Detached’ is a perfect example.

Andy Carhart – Don’t Lose Your Head
NEWHD Featured Artist Andy Carhart is an outstanding guitar player out of Colorado and has been part of the Z-GR! Community since early 2022 when I first came across ‘Don’t Lose Your Head’ and put it on my playlist – he’s got some great music, and he’s been a true advocate for what we do around here and for other artists, so I highly suggest you take some time to listen through his stuff. I did a Take 5 Interview with him for Episode 18 so make sure you check that out as well as the rest of his library.

Ox – Battle Resistant
Ox is Edinburgh-based J.J.McGowan, an award winning one-man band who records, produces and performs live. He’s a recent addition to the Z-GR! Radio Pool of Awesome – ‘Battle Resistant’ was on Episode 48, and there’s no doubt that you’ll hear more from him on the show moving forward.
Dan Sindel – Ambition
Dan Sindel first appeared on the show way back on Episode 2 – he’s been featured in Guitar Player and Electronic Musician magazines, and he was a fixture in the L.A. metal scene of the ‘80’s – truthfully, I don’t have a great reason why it took until Episode 48 to have him on again, but I’m glad I did – Dan’s latest, ‘Ambition’ is awesome.
The Future Us – Learn To Rock and Roll
Scotland’s The Future Us have a great classic rock vibe and ‘Learn To Rock and Roll’ caught my ear because I thought I was hearing what Bon Scott would sound like in the modern age. I really like these guys, and while I’ve had them on the show several times with different songs, that track remains my favorite of theirs.

Racing – Flashbacks
Auckland- based Racing is ridiculously great – their debut record ‘Real Dancing’ was nominated for Best Rock Artist at the 2019 Vodafone New Zealand and they are easily one of my favorite Z-GR! Radio artists. I’ve had them on three times with three different songs, but for Episode 50 I reached back to their 2022 album ‘Must Be The Moon’ for ‘Flashbacks’.

Pennan Brae – Crashland
Vancouver’s Pennan Brae is another artist with long standing in the Z-GR! Radio Artist community – he was on the playlist 6 times before he hit Z-GR! Radio on Episode 5. Needless to say I am a fan – aside from making a couple of really cool films and recording a couple of really cool soundtrack albums and a bunch of groovy songs, Pennan has a keen eye behind the lens and shows up in my social feeds with his really cool shots from in and around Vancouver.

Stray Pursuit – Let It Be Known
I really like the Stray Pursuit’s high octane vibe – they’ve nailed the 90’s throwback post-punk sound and energy so it’s no wonder that they have a reputation for tearing stages up. It’s been a few months since their last gigs, but check their website at thestraypursuit.com for dates as they come up.
Disco In Sochi – Cherry7Up
Disco In Sochi is Liverpool denizen Alex Allen, who used the COVID down time to craft a set of killer songs. He hit my radar right as I kicked off the show and ended up on Episode 2 – since then, ‘Cherry SevenUp’, has earned a permanent spot on my personal playlist and is a go-to pick me up when I need a burst of energy in my ears.

Space Sharks – Ready to Fly
The Space Sharks are Lonnie Richard and Michael Martino, and they debuted back on the Z-GR! Radio extended rock block that was episode 36 – they’re based out of Baltimore and Boston and The more I listen to the Sharks, the more I like their modern psychedelic sound. ‘Ready to Fly’ is off of their 2020 ‘Space Songs’ EP.
Lord Sunny the Unifier – I Think We’ve Been Had
That was Brooklyn’s Lord Sonny The Unifier with ‘I Think We’ve Been Had’. Lord Sunny’s fairly new to Z-GR! Radio – he arrived on Episode 43 – but he’s one of those artists that I knew would be on the show as soon as I heard him. He has a great 70’s rocker visual to go with his sound, which is self described as ‘Psychedelic Garage Biker Rock with dirty synths’. It’s an accurate take, as you just heard, and I’d expect to hear more from him on upcoming shows.

Zero-G Racetrack – Bad Romance
There are three things found in each and every episode of Z-GR! Radio – the first is great music by artists that I think deserve to be heard by a wider audience. The second is a cover track worthy of the original but awesome in its own right and the third is a song by my band Zero-G Racetrack, because Z-GR! Radio would not be Z-GR! Radio without some Z-GR!. Quick history – Our take on Lady Gaga’s ‘Bad Romance’ was picked up by NEWHD in late 2023 and was the catalyst that led to my opportunity to do this show. It is part of the Z-GR! Radio DNA, so of course it’s the obvious choice for our Episode 50 cover track.

Melinda Kausek / Sam Feinstein / TK Tran – The Old Familiar
Melinda Kausek’s latest, ‘The Old Familiar’, explores the reality that we’re all wearing out with each passing day. Melinda’s vocal comes across as more curious than morbid, and she’s enlisted Z-GR! Radio artist Sam Feinstein and TK Tran to add depth to a really great track.
