Power Rob – Live Fast, Die Hard
I was familiar with Thrillkiller’s outstanding cover of MJ’s ‘Dirty Diana’ but I wasn’t aware that Baltimore’s Power Rob, AKA Rob Bradley, also fronted Megatronix and produces his own solo material. He’s a busy guy, in addition to producing some very cool tracks, he’s also a vocal coach and is our opener this week with ‘Live Fast, Die Hard’ off of his 2021 album, ‘Monsterman’.

Torul – Just Go
I’m fairly certain that TORUL is the one and only Slovenian artist to have graced Z-GR! Radio, and I’m sure happy to have them. ‘Just Go’ is the sort of track that’ll grab you with that super catchy synth bassline and then stay with you long after the track finishes.
Space Tourist / LAU – Walk Away
Space Tourist is a french ambient synthwave band that formed in 2019 and has multiple joint projects with prolific artists including Midnight Fury and one of my favorite Z-GR! Radio artists LAU. This really great collaboration is from 2022 and showcases LAU’s pop vocal perfectly.

Chroma Cloud – Jupiter
Chroma Cloud is Columbus Ohio duo Jamie Ravine and Brian Skeel – I they have a big modern retro sound that I really, really like – I’ve had their first release on the show a few times, and it’s nice to see their library building, including this track ‘Jupiter’. They do some really neat lighting effects for their live shows, so swing by their Facebook page for some videos. Very cool.
Columbia Mills – Who Am I Supposed to Talk to Now?
Irish band Columbia Mills has a really cool sound that layers unique and interesting synth sounds into their rockness. I really like these guys – their library dates back to 2014 and I spent time with their second album, 2020’s CCTV. I really vibed with ‘Who Am I Supposed to Talk to Now?’., and incidentally they have a live video of the track (embedded above) from an appearance on the ‘The Paul McLoone Show’ on Today Fm, which is AWESOME.

Bisou Noir – Weekend Lover
London’s Bisou Noir debuted on Episode 7 and truthfully, I should’ve had them back on sooner – they formed in 2018 and were featured in an Adidas advertisement, which is cool and are well known around the London Rock scene for throwing shows and supporting other artists.
Andy Carhart – Erasing Me
I always look forward to new releases from Z-GR! Radio featured artist Andy Carhart – we’ve been friendly for several years now and had a great conversation for NEWHD’s Take 5 for Episode 18. He dropped his latest ‘Erasing Me’ a few weeks back and as always, it doesn’t disappoint.

Melinda Kausek / Sam Feinstein / TK Tran – The Old Familiar
Silicon Valley’s Melinda Kausek’s latest, ‘The Old Familiar’, explores the reality that we’re all wearing out with each passing day. Melinda’s vocal comes across as more curious than morbid – I’ve seen her play out several times and she’s always really great.

Zero-G Racetrack – I Remember
We really don’t focus on ballads at Zero-G Racetrack, but ‘I Remember’ is about as close as we‘ve come. Not every relationship works out, but that doesn’t mean there weren’t great things about each one, so this song reflects on the idea that every relationship, regardless of how it ends, leaves you with positives that should be remembered moving forward.

Orange County Death March – Electrified
OC favorite Orange County Death March is an electro-rock band based in Los Angeles, and they’re back on the show after way too long. Their music blends electronic elements with rock influences, creating a distinctive sound. They were on Episode 1 of Z-GR ! Radio with a joint with 78RPM and this time, they paired with Laney Lynx for ‘Electrified’. Laney is in LA by way of Rhode Island and Boston’s Berklee College of Music. It’s a really great track.

Fury Weekend – Another Brick in the Wall
This week’s cover is perhaps the most well known of iconic rock band Pink Floyd’ amazing catalogue – released in 1979 in 3 parts of Floyd’s Rock Opera ‘The Wall’, the son went to #1 in both the U.S. and the UK and has been covered by multiple artists including Korn and this artist, Belarusian Ars Nikonov, who goes by the name Fury Weekend. His take on the track leans into methodical synth melodies, glitchy electronic effects, and signature guitar tones all while maintaining the original’s rebellious spirit.
Mother’s Talk – White Collar Funk
It seems appropriate to follow Fury Weekend’s cover with a track by Mother’s Talk, AKA guitarist S.J. Mathos, who also clearly appreciates Pink Floyd – he put out a really cool re-imagining of Pink Floyd’s Animals back in 2018, and I’m closing the show this week with his very awesome mashup of synthwave, funk, and industrial rock – ‘White Collar Funk’.
