Pink Nun – Rocket Ride
When I first played Norway’s Pink Nun back on Episode 30 and again on Episode 38, I mentioned that I was looking forward to hearing more from them and let me tell you, they didn’t disappoint with their eponymous full length album – they’ve nailed the modern pop-punk vibe and ‘Rocket Ride’ is this week’s opener for good reason.
Chickabass – Flirt
Chickabass is Los Angeles artist and engineer Gigi Zimmer, who, when she’s not helping other atlantic records artists capture their sound, is making cool music with her bass – hence the name. She’s only got a few tracks out, but they’re great and I’m hoping we get more from her soon.
Corlyx – Take Off Everything
Corlyx is a darkwave trio originally from Los Angeles and now based between the UK and Italy – they’re a trio made up of Caitlin Stokes, Brandon Ashley and Davide Rocco and they have a very cool sound that leans hard into Caitin’s haunting vocals. I first heard ‘Take Off Everything’ in 2022 and really, really liked it. They’ve built a solid fan base over the past few years and they’re worth checking out.
Al1ce – For Dead
A1ice is a really cool darkwave / electro-prog / synthwave band out of Los Angeles, and I had ‘For Dead’ on the Halloween show last year – aside from making really great music, they do a really good job keeping their fanbase in the know, and I do highly suggest that swing by their website at ilikealice.com and put yourself on their mailing list for timely information on what the band is up to.

Iris – Take the Pain
I stumbled across Iris in 2021 right after they disbanded, and I am very sad that we’ll not be getting more goodness from them. ’Take the Pain’ is off of their album ‘Six’ – regardless of their current status I highly recommend that you take a spin or two through it – it really is outstanding.
Stevie Starlight – On The Floor
Stevie Starlight is from Venice, California and brings the Classic Rock vibe forward in an really cool way I had on Episode 26, but he’s go so many great tracks that I figured that I’d dig around in his library and sure enough, I came up with ‘On The Floor’, the opener off of his 2020 EP Unnaturally Happy.
Train to Spain – I Wanna Know (Tolochock Remix)
I had ‘I Wanna Know’ by who when not remixing tracks by the likes of Breathe of My Leaves, Swedish duo Train to Spain are writing fantastic tracks like ‘I Wanna Know’, which I featured back on Episode 9. I decided that I wanted them back on the show and came across the Tolchok remix of he song, and it’s really great, as is Sweden’s Tolchok, who have a really great industrial dance vibe that’s worth checking out.

The Motion Epic – Lips Like Sugar
It’s hard to believe that this week’s cover track never charted in the U.S. back in 1987, especially seeing how it’s the song that propelled Echo and the Bunnymen into the big leagues – the song has been covered by some of the biggest names out there, including Coldplay, Seal and the Smashing Pumpkins. This version is by The Motion Epic, a fantastic group of 80’s devotees who make the 80’s classic sound new again.
Zero-G Racetrack – Life Is Short
It only makes sense that Zero-G Racetrack’s latest release, ‘Life Is Short’ makes its radio broadcast debut here on Z-GR! Radio – the track is a tour de force across a variety of styles and eras in musical history and is the magnum opus of the band’s impending debut album of the same name. The song’s about making our todays awesome as we survive our yesterdays, all while keeping life and love in perspective. Grab your favorite snack of choice and settle in, because… Life is Short.

Chris Boddington – Relentless
Honestly, I’m not sure how I haven’t had Birmingham DJ/Producer Chris Boddington on the show before now, but there’s no better time than the present to fix that oversight – Chris is closing out the show with 2021’s apply named ‘Relentless’.
