Z-GR! Radio overview right from your Host:
Have fun with the list below, enjoy the artists/music and…
This week’s opener is Episode 12’s Reclaim Vienna, who is back with another earworm – the band’s been quiet for a time now, but there was some hope that they’d be back at late last year. They have a great ‘80s anthem vibe, I really dig these guys, and I’m hoping they’re going to be back at it soon.
Stevie Starlight is from Venice, California and brings the Classic Rock vibe forward in an really cool way; he’s got a TON of great tracks, and I’ve reached back to his 2018 album ‘Taste The Light’ for ‘Goddess New Love’, a hybrid of 60’s and 70’s grooves that sounds amazing.
I have No info on Electronic Zoo except a bunch of great music on Spotify – ‘Stirred Up’ is from 2022 and their last release was in 2023, so I’m hoping we get more from them. Regardless of whether we get anything new from them, I really like their sound and they’re worth checking out.
We’re HUGE fans of New York City Disco Diva Amy Douglas here at Z-GR! Radio, and her latest is a joint with John “J-C” Carr & Bill Coleman who are known collectively as 808 BEACH. They’ve recently worked with another Z-GR! Radio favorite Bright Light Bright Light, and if this track, ‘Whatever Daddy Says’ doesn’t make you move, you just might be dead.

I really like Los Angeles Synth-pop duo They Kiss – Anna Mak hails from San Francisco and Cash Civetta is from NYC, and this track notably includes Julian Lennon – yes, THAT Julian Lennon and Brooklyn-based Sandflower.

Dead Phone Calls is a solo project of Max Cossu, who has a really great sound reminiscent of late 80’s goth-rock – he started releasing tracks in 2015, took a long break before dropping two tracks in 2022. Both are excellent, and I’m hoping we hear more from Max soon.
I’m a big fan of The Wretched Pinhead Puppets – the Puppets are ‘Jimmy’, who has a fantastic Instagram account which includes cool art, videos and anecdotes, so make sure you check it out. ‘Power Up’ was released in November of 2023, and is yet another awesome track by an awesome artist.
Synthpop duo Able Machines, out of Los Angeles, is made up of Tay Coliee and Linus Dodson – their 2023 album ‘Digital Precision’ is absolutely amazing, and it turns out their latest track release is a cover of the classic Blind Melon song ‘No Rain’, so I spun it up, it’s awesome and it’s this week’s cover song.

William Lovitt was our Guest Artist on Episode 11 and I really really love his funky vibe. He’s a mentor at newartistspotlight.org, which, like Z-GR! Radio seeks to get new ears on emerging artists – I’ve had several artists from the platform on the show, and I highly recommend taking a look at it either as an artist looking to join a community or as a listener looking to expand your horizons. I absolutely love BIll’s ‘Pan Fried Electrified’ and decided to use it to close the show this week.
