Z-GR! Radio overview right from your Host:
Have fun with the list below, enjoy the artists/music and…
We’re opening the show with an awesome cover this week – Matt Pop, who is amazing, brings another fantastic mix, this time for Pittsburg’s synthpop sibling duo Candy Apple Blue. This is their take on 80’s dance Pop legend Dead or Alive’s ‘Special Star’.

If you don’t love Amy Douglas, there just might be something wrong with you. She self describes as dance music’s bonafide rock chick but I like to think of her as Z-GR! Radio’s resident Disco Diva – ‘Freak at Night’ is a joint with Brooklyn’s JKriv, who is also killing it.

I had Young Empress on Episode 10 with their excellent cover of Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Go Your Own Way’, but the truth is that they’ve got a ton of really great songs and ‘Ghosts’ is one of them. It’s off of their 2021 ‘Lost Time’ album, and they’ve got several remixes of the track, my favorite among them is ToneF’s ‘I Ain’t Afraid of no Remix’.

Junksista is a munich-based duo known for proudly advocating for healthy libidos worldwide. They are a lot of fun – ‘The Truth’ off of their 2014 album ‘High Voltage Confessions’ and they’ve got a bunch of cool tracks so be sure to take a listen.

Keep Shelly In Athens, a project founded by Greek producer RPR as a vehicle for working with other artists is, truthfully, way beyond the status of ‘emerging artist’ but I love their stuff and took the opportunity to get it in your ears. ‘You’ is off of their 2023 album ‘Among Wolves’ and it’s worth taking a spin through their library for sure.

I had Estella Dawn on Episode 7 so she’s way overdue for an appearance on the show – of course, her latest release is crazy great – Estella’s got a way with words that’s rarely seen and truly remarkable, and she could run a clinic on how artists can and should use social media. She comes across as very authentic and very likeable and her voice and music are fantastic – it’s no wonder she’s blowing up and ‘514 Denim’ is a perfect example of why.
